Ian Woodcock, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

As Intercare’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Ian has a broad scope of responsibilities, including: organizational development; strategic and operational planning; the delivery of innovative, client-centred care and service delivery models; multi-site operations; contract negotiations; labour-management relations; and leading targeted investments in new and emerging technologies.  Ian is a dynamic, visionary, values driven, senior executive with twenty-seven (27) years of progressive management and leadership experience in healthcare, hospitality and consulting in Alberta and British Columbia.  Ian is a strategic thinker, innovator and change agent with an unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth and integrity, service excellence and the provision of patient/resident focused care of the highest quality.  Ian is a recognized and committed volunteer leader both within the work environment and in the community.   Ian holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the University of Victoria and a Master of Health Services Administration from Dalhousie University.  Ian is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) – a designation obtained through the Canadian College of Health Leaders with whom he has been a member since 1991.  Ian is a Board Member of the Alberta Continuing Care Association and a Member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an opt-in research community of business professionals. 

Dr. Paddy Quail, Medical Director / Site Leader Medical
As Medical Director and Site Leader Medical for Intercare, Dr. Quail is a family physician who graduated from Trinity College Dublin and worked in the UK from 1982 until emigrating to Canada in 1987. One of his first positions was a houseman at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge on the Geriatrics unit (1983) and later as a vocational trainee in General Practice in an inner city practice in London (1987) . He supports all efforts to promote the most compassionate care of older and disabled patients and has a keen interest in facility based care. He is also Medical Director for Home Care with the Calgary Health Region where he chairs the newly created Ethics committee and is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Dept. of Family Medicine University of Calgary. he also chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee for Supported Living and the regional Influenza planning committee.

Josh Ail, Assistant Vice President - Administration and Corporate Services

Moving from his former roles of Human Resources Program Leader and Director of Administration and Corporate Services, as Assistant Vice President Josh is now responsible for a portfolio that includes Human Resources, Maintenance, Support Services, Materials Management and IT/IS support for all Intercare facilities.  Josh brings to his position 15 years of health care management experience in both British Columbia and Alberta.  Josh holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration as well as a Human Resources Diploma. 

Sarb Gosal, Assistant Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Sarb has worked in Healthcare accounting & finance since 1998.  After acquiring an accounting certification from Capilano University in North Vancouver, B.C., Sarb was hired by the Greater Vancouver Regional Health Authority (now Vancouver Coastal health) to provide financial services to Lions Gate Hospital and Kiwanis Care Centre.  Since joining Intercare in 2000, Sarb has primarily managed the accounting and finance department for 15+ years and has also been a member of the Alberta Continuing Care Association Finance Committee.  Sarb transitioned into his current position as Assistant Vice President, CFO in early 2016 and is committed to providing the organization’s stakeholders with strong leadership in all aspects of accounting, finance, internal control, risk management, financial audits, and financial reporting.  Sarb is also actively involved in community volunteering through his coaching of youth sports.
